Meet Josue contreras

Community Financial Advocate

I was born and raised in South Dallas. Since I was young, The Lord has prepared me and equipped me to reach the lost in the South Dallas community.

I graduated from UNT Dallas in 2018 and had the privilege to keep impacting my South Dallas community through multiple organizations and helping young adults become self-sufficient through financial education, financial literacy, job readiness, and mentorship.

As I learned more and more, I wanted to build a bridge of knowledge between minorities and low-income communities. Historically, communities that are predominantly minority or low-income have more barriers to overcome to be self-sufficient due to the lack of resources and education. The Lord knew what he was doing as He has been preparing me for this season and has allowed me to work with Watermark CDC and their mission to "Transform the Economic Welfare of Our Community."
