"I don't care what the world has to offer me!”

After coming to know God in prison, Jesse met Kevin (a current Financial Catalyst Facilitator and Ally) through the Prison Entrepreneurship Program (PEP), which works with individuals per re-entry into society.

"In prison people that owned businesses would come and visit and encourage us to build up a plan, have a vision, and move forward with [it]. Since prison, I have had this vision for snow cones! I had my whole business plan, and [Kevin] helped me through the process. Then after prison, I joined Financial Catalyst, and I got to know Kevin more."

As their relationship grew, so did Jesse's consistency, excitement, and savings as he faithfully applied what he was learning from God, the class, and his Ally. After graduating from Financial Catalyst's Part 1 Class & the 15-month Accelerated Savings Program, he used his matched savings to purchase his long-awaited trailer to make his snow cone business, Remi’s Sweets and Treats, a reality!

"The class was amazing because, during a time when everyone was struggling and going through a financial struggle, a crisis, a pandemic, [others] were focusing on trials and tribulations instead keeping their focus on God. But it's possible with God! Not with man. Y'all keep trying to look to man for your problem solver [while God] is the one who created YOU! I just kept saving and saving and saving."

Jesse is on mission in his community - working hard, serving his neighbors in his apartment complex, and telling everyone, he comes into contact with about the love of God!

"I don't care what the world has to offer me! I will take everything [God] has to give me! Why? Because it is clean, pure, righteous, just - it's from God. It's better than what the whole world has to offer. I am happy. I am content. I am pleased with everything God has given me."
